Universal Parallel Computing Research Center (UPCRC Illinois)

UPCRC Illinois wants everyone to benefit from supercomputing technology—not just research scientists. With funding and support from Microsoft and Intel, UPCRC Illinois is paving the way for mass-market systems—such as desktops, servers, and PDAs—to utilize supercomputing parallel programming techniques. Making parallel programming synonymous with programming is one way UPCRC Illinois plans to extend the power of supercomputing productivity to everyone. UPCRC Illinois is a joint research effort of the Illinois department of computer science and the Coordinated Science Laboratory. Research is conducted by faculty members and graduate students from the departments of computer science and electrical and computer engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
