Application of experimental models and measurements for computational modeling validation. Development of laser based diagnostic techniques and the study of high-speed flows, aerodynamics, plasmas, combustion, and turbulence.

Biography:

Gregory S. Elliott is a professor and associate head of undergraduate studies in Illinois' Department of Aerospace Engineering. He holds a bachelor's degree and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from The Ohio State University.

His primary research focus is the general area of thermal and fluid sciences, experimental techniques with an emphasis on laser based diagnostic techniques, and experimental supersonic and subsonic fluid mechanics. Also he has conducted research in combustion, propulsion, plasmas, aerodynamics, turbulence, thermal spray coating technologies, internet based instruction, engineering design and computational fluid dynamics.
